"I got a quote from The Local to be an event caterer a couple of weeks before our event, & wound up having the event at their venue as well, due to their responsiveness and competitive pricing. The event planner, Crystal, was flexible and efficient. The day of the event, the other staff members hosting our event were similarly helpful. They responded to requests for changes that day, to help us get the maximum value out of the day. In addition, the upstairs space is very naturally beautiful, with hardwood floors and wood tables and bar; the enclosed patio feels very spacious and has wonderful natural light. The indoor space also worked well for the AV presentation."

"I was planning our wedding In Scottsville, VA from Chicago, IL. On our one trip to the Charlottesville area to start the planning process, we met with the folks from The Local and immediately knew we could entrust them with our wedding catering. Crystal (their events' coordinator) was always available to answer questions. The menu was planned with our feedback taken into consideration and we could rest assured knowing that our guests would eat and drink well. We still hear guests complimenting the food from our wedding! "

"The Local catered our wedding last September, as well as did our Rehearsal dinner, and we simply could not have asked for more! We were the very first wedding that The Local catered, but from our very first meeting we felt totally confident working with them. We had a meeting with Crystal, their rockstar event coordinator, the executive chef Matthew and owner Adam. They asked us all the right questions, and we followed up with a tasting that completely sealed the deal. Leading up to the wedding the entire crew went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. Crystal always responded promptly to all of my emails, and the owner Adam even helped with my DIY projects-now that's service! On the day of the wedding everything was perfect. They had everything set up way in advance, and had enough staff to make sure everyone was taken care of. The food was delicious, and our guests STILL talk about those crab cake apps! My husband and I had our first date at The Local, and they executed out wedding day and rehearsal dinner to perfection. We would not hesitate to recommend them to any future brides!"

We used the Local for our wedding catering for about 155 people. The food was nothing short of fantastic! We got so many compliments on our food, and had several guests tell us that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. The Local was very accommodating with the food choices, as I needed to have a fully gluten free menu and a few of our guests were vegan. They provided a wonderful food tasting ahead of time, and worked with us to alter dishes and make a cocktail list as needed.

Crystal, the Local's event planner, was amazing! She was so helpful and easy to work with and checked in with us periodically to make sure things were on track. She went above and beyond, helping us coordinate all the rentals, tent and set up for the day before and the day of. I would not have gotten through it without her!

I would like to take the opportunity to rave about The Local. They are now my go to caterer in this area! My first experience working with them was excellent. The food is of such a high quality that the end product was amazing! All of their staff members, especially Crystal who is there Event Coordinator, were a pleasure to work with. Everyone was professional, polite, hardworking and did everything necessary to make sure that the event went off without a hitch! I look forward to working with them for many events to come!

Dear Crystal,
Thank you so very much for catering our wedding this weekend! I can't thank you enough, you worked so hard to make it beautiful and delicious and seamless. The food was spectacular! I especially loved the vegetarian dumplings, and people loved the citrus salad too. Thank you for personally making sure our table had special service. I felt so bad that at the end of the night when I went to thank Adam, I called him Matthew by mistake... what an overwhelming day, it's a wonder I could remember how to do anything! I really do appreciate that he personally came to help with our event. I'm asking the journalist from the Hook to include in the article that The Local catered the reception. Hopefully the photographers got some nice photos of the spread of food, but I won't see those for a few weeks! I never even made it over to that side of the room to see it! Thanks again.

"To The Local Management:

Last weekend, Saturday the 14th, my husband and I brought a party of 7 for dinner at eight p.m. When we arrived, we were told that our table was not yet ready, and that if we would like to wait at the bar, you would take care of our drinks. As it ended up, The party occupying our table stayed-up for an extended amount of time. Your staff were so professional throughout. We received regular updates and were treated to an additional round of drinks plus a discount on our appetizers.

(In our group that night) We had friends from three different states, who were equally impressed with the manner your staff handled this situation. As for us 'Locals', we will continue to patronize (The Local) and sing your praises to whomever we can. Your food and service already had us; the way you dealt with a sticky situation locked us in."

Hey Matthew –

Wow!!! Thank you guys so much for everything you did!!! We just got back into town over the weekend. We’ve been hearing about the food all week! It was phenomenal and yes, Matt and I had meatloaf and mac and cheese at 2am in the morning. We missed out on the beignets and chocolate custard but heard great things… there were report people licked the cups. Let us know when you put the custard back on the menu and we’ll come in for dinner! I can’t believe we missed it.

Seriously though, you guys were amazing and wonderful to work with. I’d recommend you bar none to anyone. From the very beginning, I was impressed. You guys were great to work with along the way, easy to communicate with, the tables looked spectacular, everything was top notch.

Crystal – you were a great addition. I really liked working with you and being able to text someone in a parking lot at 6pm was huge. Thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you guys!!!!! It was truly wonderful having you on my side for the night.

We loved it and you’ve made lifelong patrons out of us. We’ll be in soon.
